About House Rabbit Society (HRS)

As part of my effort to bring rabbit care in Japan closer to the welfare standards promoted by House Rabbit Society (HRS), I visited HRS headquarters in California. The visit gave me a valuable opportunity to tour the facility, learn directly about its work, and exchange ideas with HRS staff and volunteers.

Meeting with Amber, an HRS Director

Amber from HRS guided me through the facility. Educational posters on topics such as keeping rabbits healthy and happy and understanding how rabbits play were displayed on the walls, reflecting HRS’s strong commitment to educating visitors.

Amber Chairman
Visit to the House Rabbit Society

Amber Tadena is the Executive Director of House Rabbit Society (HRS). After beginning as a volunteer in 2016, Amber now oversees the organization’s overall operations. Through major challenges—including the spread of Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus Type 2 (RHDV2) and the COVID-19 pandemic—Amber has continued working to support and connect the rabbit welfare community.
